Gorbachev slams US war on terror Press

Gorbachev affirms that the approach taken by the US left people living in occupied nations humiliated, which would cause them to turn to terrorism. Gorbachev believes the war on terrorism is being fought with violence and without consideration for the structural problems of the world. In racial integration, however, Mr. Gorbachev said the US has set an example in areas ranging from arts to sports for a divided world. Mr. Gorbachev was in Louisville for a speech later today at the Kentucky Centre sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Kentucky/Southern Indiana.
His talk is part of a tour leading up to an international meeting of the Green Cross International, an environmental group that Mr. Gorbachev founded. The meeting starts tomorrow in New Orleans.
