White House Grand Slam on the Nick Berg Murder
Congressmen have just been shown the Pentagon stash of photos of torture in Iraq.
Closed-door. Hush hush.
The White House spin is now starting to emerge on the networks.
"The Pentagon feels these photos should not be released to the public, and some senators and representatives agree. After all, do we want terrorists in Iraq to respond to such a release by beheading more Nick Bergs? That is exactly what they will do if we make these gruesome photos available."
Perfect.
"You see, in principle we don't object to giving the photos to the media. But IN THIS SITUATION, we just can't do it. And we're sure the media don't want to be responsible for more decapitations, either."
Perfect.
Just in case you're wondering, WHO BENEFITS?
