More time to question raid pair Police holding two men arrested in an anti-terror raid in east London have been given more time to question them. Brothers Mohammed Abdul Kahar, 23, and Abul Koyair, 20, have been held over an alleged terror plot since the raid on a house in Forest Gate on Friday. They can now be detained until Saturday afternoon. They are being held at Paddington Green police station. Mr Kahar was shot in the shoulder during the raid. Both of the men deny the allegations. 'Anxious' Mr Koyair's solicitor, Julian Young, said he and his client were happy with the decision to detain the men further. He refused to discuss the nature of any evidence in the case. He read out a statement from Mr Koyair, saying: "I deny any involvement in terrorism. I can cope with my time in custody. "I am just anxious to get out of here as soon as possible and be reunited with my family." Kate Roxburgh, who represents Mr Kahar, said her client was "still upset" to be in custody but relieved that the police application to detain them until Wednesday was not granted. Mr Young said questioning of the pair would resume on Thursday. Both brothers are being questioned about involvement in planning or carrying out terrorism acts. Prime Minister Tony Blair has said he supports the police "101%". 'Stop co-operating' Earlier, Respect Party activist Yvonne Ridley called on Muslims in east London to stop co-operating with police. Ms Ridley, who became a Muslim after being kidnapped by the Taleban in Afghanistan five years ago, later clarified her comments. She said she only wanted Muslim community leaders to stop co-operating, not the whole community. London Mayor Ken Livingstone said Ms Ridley was "on a planet of her own". He praised Muslim leaders for engaging with police to help prevent "an awful lot of terrorist acts" in London over the past five or six years. 'Specific intelligence' Recently-elected Muslim Council of Britain leader Muhammad Abdul Bari visited Forest Gate on Monday and urged police to give a "clear picture" of the operation. Senior Met officers said "specific intelligence" about a chemical device prompted them to raid the house. They have yet to find any device, but say the search of the terraced house in Lansdown Road could continue until the end of the week. The shooting is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission. --------------------------------------------------- Prison Planet.tv: The Premier Multimedia Subscription Package: Download and Share the Truth!
