Venezuela Has No Plans On Halting Oil Exports To U.S.

RTT News
Monday February 18, 2008

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Sunday that his country has no intention of cutting off oil exports to the United States but would only do so if Washington attacks the South American country.

During a visit to heavy-oil projects in Venezuela's petroleum-rich Orinoco River basin Chavez said "We don't have plans to stop sending oil to the United States."

However, the socialist leader said if the United States "attacks Venezuela or tries to harm us, we will have to make the decision not to send a single drop of our oil to the United States."

Meanwhile, U.S. officials have denied planning to attack Venezuela.
