Senate Intelligence chair: has deal to 'fix' surveillance law CAPITOL HILL The chairman of the Senate Intelligence panel says he's worked out "a fix" for the U-S law governing the National Security Agency's warrantless surveillance program. Kansas Republican Pat Roberts says he's been working with the White House and has a "clear indication" of "movement" that could also sideline talk of a congressional investigation. Without offering specifics, Roberts says the White House also would provide more information about the N-S-A eavesdropping to Congress. Intelligence Committee members had planned to meet today to discuss whether to open an investigation. Roberts says he is not sure whether a congressional inquiry is "the right thing to do at this particular time." ---------------------------------------------------
