| Thousands Call For Peace In India Sky
News More than 60,000 people are expected to turn out in India's financial capital, Mumbai, to demonstrate their commitment to peace. School children and office workers lined the streets, some holding hands to show solidarity in the wake of the terror attacks in the city just over two weeks ago. One young girl who looked no more than 10 years old said; "We want to show we are against terrorism. We don't want trouble. We want peace." (ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)
The demonstrators intend to walk through all the areas which were attacked by terrorists on November 26. Some are carrying placards calling for peace between India and Pakistan and urging the politicians to remain focused and not to be provoked into confrontation. The demonstration comes a day after the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called Pakistan the 'epicentre of terrorism' and said it needed to do more. |
