| Ritter: Bush's claims source of concern Press
TV Former UN arms inspector Scott Ritter says George W. Bush seeks to justify waging a war on Iran by claiming he is 'an instrument of God'. In an interview with the Metro Times, the former Marine Corps intelligence officer said Bush should be asked what he really means by claiming 'God talks to him'. It is disturbing that a man who has control over the world's largest nuclear arsenal 'speaks of World War III and the apocalypse', he warned. "If it is a show, it is a dangerous show. If it is real, we should all be scared to death," said Ritter.
He added that when Bush 'openly talks about how God is his final adviser', it embraces 'evangelicalism that gives legitimacy to the notion of the rapture, Armageddon, the apocalypse as good things'. Bush had earlier claimed that he was in a mission from God, and God had told him to 'invade Afghanistan and Iraq'. "I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me; 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.' And I did. And then God would tell me; 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq…', and I did.” said the US President.
