A Tale of Two Bushes - War, Drugs and Deception
Transcript of *TRUE WORLD ORDER* 28th February 2002 Broadcast
|This afternoon I want to connect the dots between the Enron crash, The Bush Cheney Drug Empire, and how the money from the half trillion dollar per year drug money cash-flow keeps the stock market afloat.
I’ll start with an article I wrote a few days after the Enron story broke.
This article can be found on citizenspokane.com along with a list of supporting documents and articles.
(A Tale Of Two Bushes)
I suppose to understand the level of treachery and the ruthless nature of the beast; one must start at the beginning. Let us begin with an excerpt from the Unauthorized Biography of George Bush.
Who is George Bush? How did he become the 41st U.S. President?
He is said to be a man of the "old establishment," who "chose to seek his fortune as an independent oilman...."
In fact, Bush was never "independent." Every career step in his upward climb relied on his family's powerful associations. The Bush family joined the Eastern Establishment comparatively recently, and only as servitors. Their wealth and influence resulted from their loyalty to another, more powerful family, and their willingness to do anything to get ahead.
For what they did, Bush's forebears should have become very famous, or infamous. They remained obscure figures, managers from behind the scenes. But their actions--including his father's role as banker for Adolph Hitler--had tragic effects for the whole planet.
Now lets fast-forward to the present Bush presidency. G.W. Bush was just quoted as saying that when this is all settled with the Enron Corporation, the American people will find the White House did nothing wrong. Here we find more of the typical double speak and innocence through omission. The White House couldn’t do anything wrong. It’s a building. Also, little Georgie knows very well exactly what is and was wrong with Enron since just about everyone in his cabinet and many of the Senators and Reps from Texas were among the largest recipients of campaign donations from Enron. The best politicians money could buy, quite literally. They also came from both sides of the aisle. Democrats and Republicans, men and women alike, were well moneyed by Enron.
The question Enron finds most troubling is: How did you make your money? They have offered multiple double talk explanations. They once said they financialize energy, what ever that means. Financialize isn’t even a word. They also offered an equally lame explanation of: we optimize markets. We’ll come back to this later because we need to lay more foundation.
Again I will refer to the Unauthorized Biography of George Bush.
World War I was then raging in Europe. With the prospect that the U.S.A. would soon join the war, two Skull and Bones "Patriarchs", Averell Harriman (class of 1913) and Percy A. Rockefeller (class of 1900), paid special attention to Prescott's class of 1917. They wanted reliable cadres to help them play the Great Game, in the lucrative new imperial era that the war was opening up for London and New York moneycrats. Prescott Bush, by then a close friend of "Bunny" Harriman, and several other Bonesmen from their class of 1917 would later comprise the core partners in Brown Brothers Harriman, the world's largest private investment bank.
World War I did make an immense amount of money for the clan of stock speculators and British bankers who had just taken over U.S. industry. The Harrimans were stars of this new Anglo-American elite.
Averell's father, stock broker E.H. Harriman, had gained control of the Union Pacific Railroad in 1898 with credit arranged by William Rockefeller, Percy's father, and by Kuhn Loeb & Co.'s British-affiliated private bankers: Otto Kahn, Jacob Schiff and Felix Warburg.
William Rockefeller, treasurer of Standard Oil and brother of Standard founder John D. Rockefeller, owned National City Bank (later "Citibank") together with Texas-based James Stillman. In return for their backing, E.H. Harriman deposited in City Bank the vast receipts from his railroad lines. When he issued tens of millions of dollars of "watered" (fraudulent) railroad stock, Harriman sold most of the shares through the Kuhn Loeb Company.
The First World War elevated Prescott Bush and his father, Samuel P. Bush, into the lower ranks of the Eastern Establishment.
As war loomed in 1914, National City Bank began reorganizing the U.S. arms industry. Percy A. Rockefeller took direct control of the Remington Arms Company, appointing his own man, Samuel F. Pryor, as the new chief executive of Remington.
Now we understand that starting wars, dealing in arms, selling fraudulent stocks, building banks and investment firms to handle and launder money, consorting with the enemies of the U.S., and playing with the occult aren’t anything new to the Bush family.
Then in more recent times, we can add taking control of the world’s cocaine and heroin markets. This would prove lucrative beyond their wildest dreams. George Herbert used the CIA for this daunting job and he built on an existing group of government destabilizers, professional assassins, torturers, infiltrators, and now, drug runners. They made a fortune in heroin in the Viet Nam war. The Harriman branch of the crime family tree found this out and we know this is the Averell Harriman who went on to fame as the U.S. ambassador to the Soviet Union during World War II, as a governor of New York State, and as a presidential advisor who was greatly responsible for starting the Vietnam War. Air America, the clandestine, unofficial, Air-force, hidden in Cambodia, is now so famous there have been movies made about it. They flew heroin out of Cambodia by the ton. Pepsi Corporation did the lab work.
The CIA destabilized a duly elected government in Bolivia earlier on, which came to be known as the K-Mart of cocaine. History seems to indicate they move back and forth between heroin and cocaine as opportunity allows or when the heat gets turned up too high.
The names of these other players keep coming up as well. Kuhn Loeb Company and CitiBank are obvious offenders, but there are others. The Investment House of Stanley-Morgan figured in later when we were busy propping up the Suharto Regime. Suharto was the Dictator of Indonesia and was most notably responsible for the genocide of nearly half of the population of East Timor. Suharto murdered more than 400,000 innocent people. Suharto was also a heroin trafficking magnate in consort with Steven Lo. Lo is known as the worlds’ leading heroin dealer along with his father Lo Sing Han. They also own Asia World, a global cruise line with resort hotels and gambling casinos. Steven Lo is one of the very few people who isn’t allowed to set foot in the United Sates for any reason. Our government actually built a highway from the poppy fields to a secluded airstrip so the Middle East poppy crops could be quickly and safely transported to the processing labs. Just as in Viet Nam, the Pepsi Corporation was the front for the heroin factory as it is rumored.
The blood money generated by the US protected operation was so massive that East Timor/Suharto hired the firm of Stanley Morgan. Stanley Morgan became an aggressive portfolio manager for the East Timor/Suharto regime. Stanley Morgan in turn plugged the huge sums of money into Wall Street. They virtually turned the stock market into the world’s biggest money laundering operation. Citibank got a piece of the action as did Kuhn Loeb, and the primary cleaning house was the Enron Corporation. This is why it seemed that everything they touched turned into cold hard cash. This is also why they can never answer the question of how they made their money.
The Bush family got into the action even deeper when they started to run cocaine from Central and South America in the now infamous Iran-Contra scandal. Military transport planes brought the coke in by the ton and created the crack epidemic that ravaged the nation. Mike Levine, former DEA and CIA agent turned whistleblower said back in 1997 that so much money had been plugged into the stock market that if the revenue was to be cut off too abruptly, we would plunge into a recession then a depression with the markets gyrating wildly before crashing.
Dick Cheney, principal in the Halliburton Corporation, is financially tied to the contract to build the long awaited Caspian Sea Oil Pipeline. Halliburton is the contractor for the pipeline now. French intel has reported that they have proof that George Bush was in serious negotiations with the Taliban in an effort to allow and create protection for the pipeline. It is reported that the Taliban was so insulted by the pushy offer that they stormed out of negotiations vowing to not only sabotage the pipeline but said they would burn the poppy crop as well. They did and that much dreaded gaping hole in the flow of drug money is what I suggest caused Enron to crumble setting off a chain reaction on Wall Street.
This phony war is retaliation and I submit the Al Qaeda was set up by the CIA to rally the nation in blood-thirsty war cries while Nero burned the city. The war has served to keep the peoples’ eye off the real ball and to create an atmosphere of National unity. In the meantime, Bush sets up a police state in waiting. I assert this police state has been assembled just in case the sheeple of the United States actually rebel and punish the criminal actions undertaken by G-Dubya and his red-neck Texas cohorts. The Bush regime was put in place with money from Enron, a company on the skids, and they put the cash to work the best way they could figure because they knew the inevitable was to come. Dick Cheney has been in hiding practically since he took office, Ashcroft has recused himself because he took so much Enron money, and Bush is scared to death as well he should be.
It appears the situation has gone to the wall anyway. The ploy isn’t working. People are just too dang smart and the Internet has allowed people to inform one another and pass around news at eye opening speed. The mainstream press is already getting hold of what the patriot community has been saying for a couple of months now. This government had prior knowledge and just like the Reichtstag and Pearl Harbor, this was an inside job and only the stupid were used as a catalyst. The Bushes turned lemons into lemon-aid and since they inflamed the Taliban so badly, they allowed them to have their revenge at the expense of thousands. They used the “crisis” to facilitate the onset of the police state.
This is all old news in a manner of speaking because the Hegelian Dialectic has been used since the beginning of modern warfare. Create the Problem. Wait for the inevitable Reaction. Then dish out the solution. Their gamble is that Americans will throw their hands up in despair from fright and poverty and take whatever crumbs fall from the tables of privilege. They think we will somehow equate being disarmed with safety. They think we will stand in line to be shot up with liquid death and call it inoculations. They are so delusional and power drunk they think we will be herded into cities and off our land.
Just in case these psychopathic occultists actually try it and don’t pretty quickly back off, I am beginning to think Ron Paul is right. What we need is a good revolution and don’t you think for a minute the fact that we the people who have millions of guns in the hands of millions of citizens with hundreds of million rounds of ammo, isn’t the only thing that is keeping us out of chains right now.
If the truth actually comes out and it turns out that the Bush regime has done what we think they have done, Mr. Phony Texan from Kennybunkport may just find himself strapped to Ol’ Sparkey doing the high voltage polka. It is time for accountability in this government or else we need to start all over again and this time, get it right. We need to get rid of the millionaire politicians and reduce their exorbitant salaries to realistic levels and kick the English Bankers out on their asses and take their Federal Reserve Fraud System with them.
We have strayed way too far from the wisdom of our forefathers and have allowed socialists, occultists, Marxists, homosexuals, baby killers and the rest of the scum of the earth to wheedle away the God-given rights for which our predecessors fought and died. Our sovereignty will not be sacrificed to the United Nations nor on the altar of Molech and George Bush can dance around his giant owl god all he wants. He can hang out with his homosexual friends at the Bohemian Grove till the cows come home but his owl god will never seize power from this nation. His mask and red robe will be no hiding place when the time of reckoning comes and he better think about it long and hard. Even the liberals are awakening. Just as the American people are slow to wake up, they are equally slow to anger. However, this oppression has become so overt that any citizen that buys this war will deserve to go the way of the oppressors. Hell hath no fury like a free man placed in chains. Lets pray that this can somehow come to a peaceful resolution but to wish for it to be painless has about much chance as a snowball has in hell.

FTW October 24, 2000 - The success of Bush Vice Presidential running mate Richard Cheney at leading Halliburton, Inc. to a five year $3.8 billion "pig-out" on federal contracts and taxpayer-insured loans is only a partial indicator of what may happen if the Bush ticket wins in two weeks. A closer look at available research, including an August 2, 2000 report by the Center for Public Integrity (CPI) at www.public-i.org, suggests that drug money has played a role in the successes achieved by Halliburton under Cheney's tenure as CEO from 1995 to 2000. This is especially true for Halliburton's most famous subsidiary, heavy construction and oil giant, Brown and Root. A deeper look into history reveals that Brown and Root's past as well as the past of Dick Cheney himself, connect to the international drug trade on more than one occasion and in more than one way.
This June the lead Washington, D.C. attorney for a major Russian oil company connected in law enforcement reports to heroin smuggling and also a beneficiary of US backed loans to pay for Brown and Root contracts in Russia, held a $2.2 million fund raiser to fill the already bulging coffers of presidential candidate George W. Bush. This is not the first time that Brown and Root has been connected to drugs and the fact is that this "poster child" of American industry may also be a key player in Wall Street's efforts to maintain domination of the half trillion dollar a year global drug trade and its profits. And Dick Cheney, who has also come closer to drugs than most suspect, and who is also Halliburton's largest individual shareholder ($45.5 million), has a vested interest in seeing to it that Brown and Root's successes continue.
Of all American companies dealing directly with the U.S. military and providing cover for CIA operations few firms can match the global presence of this giant construction powerhouse which employs 20,000 people in more than 100 countries. Through its sister companies or joint ventures, Brown and Root can build offshore oil rigs, drill wells, construct and operate everything from harbors to pipelines to highways to nuclear reactors. It can train and arm security forces and it can now also feed, supply and house armies. One key beacon of Brown and Root's overwhelming appeal to agencies like the CIA is that, from its own corporate web page, it proudly announces that it has received the contract to dismantle aging Russian nuclear tipped ICBMs in their silos.
Furthermore, the relationships between key institutions, players and the Bushes themselves suggest that under a George "W" administration the Bush family and its allies may well be able, using Brown and Root as the operational interface, to control the drug trade all the way from Medellin to Moscow.

FTW, October 10, 2001 – The governments of the United States and Britain - along with a lap-dog mainstream media all too willing to regurgitate falsehoods - are feeding us a line of demonstrably inaccurate lies about the Taliban and opium. We are being warned of a “new flood” of al-Q’aeda opium as the war expands. As British Prime Minister Tony Blair boasts, “We will bomb their poppy fields,” he neglects to mention that there aren’t any poppy fields in Taliban controlled areas to bomb. This outrageous deception of the public, in an effort to stir up support for the war effort, is further evidence that most of the rest of the government’s line following the attacks of September 11, is simply not credible.
A simple side-by-side comparison of reports from the UN and the U.S. government, along with major media stories from before and after the Sept. 11 attacks exposes the lie.
Even the U.S. State Department (www.state.gov/www/regions/sa/facts_taliban_drugs.html.) acknowledges that in July 2000, Mullah Omar of the Taliban ordered a ban on poppy cultivation in all Taliban controlled regions of Afghanistan. That State Department Fact Sheet, published after Jan 1, 2000, however, expresses U.S. disbelief in the ban’s effectiveness. This position is, however, flatly contradicted by some very credible sources, including Secretary of State Colin Powell. He gave the Taliban $43 million this May to replace the income lost to Afghani farmers as a result of the ban. Their wheat crops had failed due to the drought and they had no money from opium harvests to buy food. The middlemen who had stockpiled the opium had income. But the farmers, who had harvested in the summer of 2000, had already been paid.
In February 2000 citing reports from Agence France-Presse, the AP, and UPI, FTW published a story describing the Taliban’s successful destruction of their poppy crop. We viewed this at the time – possibly incorrectly – as a move by the Taliban to take $90 billion in drug cash out of the western banking system. That sales remained stable, however, is reflected in the fact that heroin prices fell only slightly in 2000. Had Afghanistan stopped selling altogether, then Western Europe, which gets its opium from Afghanistan, would have seen a steep increase in prices. It did not. So why then did Powell give Afghanistan the $43 million? I wish I knew.
Now, based upon new evidence, we know that in 1999 Afghanistan produced a bumper crop of 4,600 metric tons of opium and that this has been verified by a number of sources including the United Nations Drug Control Program (UNDCP) as well as in a multitude of press stories. The 2000 harvest was close to 3,300 metric tons. The result, as Colombia expanded poppy cultivation in the late 1990s, and as the Golden Triangle in Southeast Asia showed only a minor drop in output, was a glut. Therefore the Taliban’s ban on production would have had the impact of creating a price support by reducing supplies. How successful was the ban and destruction of crops? Well, aside from the above reports, which all indicated that inspections confirming the ban had taken place, consider the following:
- On January 3, 2001 an ABC News story, posted on their web site stated, “Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Inam ul-Haq’s claim to have eliminated all opium plantations in Taliban controlled territories – reported by Agence France-Presse -- seems to have been confirmed by a UN survey.
“This development could have several important ramifications for both the geopolitical situation in the region and the world drug trade...
“The center of world drug production will shift from Afghanistan, which accounted for 75 percent of world opium production last year, to Colombia and the Golden Triangle on the border between Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand.
A February 16, 2001 AP story by Kathy Gannon was headlined, “Taliban virtually wipes out opium production in Afghanistan.” It opened with these lines:
“U.N. drug control officers said the Taliban religious militia has virtually wiped out opium production in Afghanistan – once the world’s largest producer – since banning poppy cultivation in July.
“A 12-member team from the U.N. Drug Control Program spent two weeks searching most of the nation’s largest opium-producing areas and found so few poppies that they do not expect any opium to come out of Afghanistan this year.
“’We are not just guessing. We have seen the proof in the fields,’ said Bernard Frahi, regional director for the U.N. program in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He laid out photographs of vast tracts of land cultivated with wheat alongside pictures of the same fields taken a year earlier – a sea of blood red poppies.
On May 24, 2001 Barry Berak of the New York Times wrote a story entitled, “Taliban Ban on Drug Crops Is Working, U.S. Concludes.” Here are the lead paragraphs:
“ELMAND PROVINCE, Afghanistan, May 20 – This has been heroin’s great heartland, where the narcotic came to life as an opium resin taken from fragile buds of red and white poppies. Last year, 75 per cent of the world’s opium crop was grown in Afghanistan, with the biggest yield sprouting from here in the fertile plains of the country’s south, sustained by the meander of the Helmand River.
“But something astonishing has become evident with this spring’s harvest. Behind the narrow dikes of packed earth, the fields are empty of their most profitable plant. Poor farmers, scythes in hand, stoop among brown stems.
“Mile after mile, there is only a dry stubble of wheat to cut from the lumpy soil…
“But American narcotics officials who visited the country confirmed earlier United Nations reports that the Taliban had, in one growing season, managed a rare triumph in the long and losing war on drugs…”
Before looking at what the press is saying since the WTC attacks, take three facts and lock them firmly in your brain. First, the opium-growing season in the region, according to the UN and other drug monitoring agencies, is a planting in October and November with a harvest in May and June. There have been no crops planted or harvested in Afghanistan or Pakistan since the summer of 2000. The Taliban and farmers have been sustaining themselves by selling stockpiles, with the prices fairly stable since the ban.
Second, Afghanistan, for the last four years, has been suffering under one of the worst droughts in its history. The last year has been the worst.
Third, Central Asian expert, Vladimir Davlatov, writing for “1 world media,” from the Tajikistan capital of Dushnabe, interviewed a General [Rustam Nazarov] in command of Tajik border guards charged with intercepting heroin supplies smuggled out of Afghanistan. The August 31 story (Issue No. 67) quoted the General as saying, “The quality of Afghan heroin has recently deteriorate[d].”
- “The West At War: Drugs Wipeout – We’ll Bomb Poppy Fields – Blair Targets Terror Profits – Poppy fields which supply the Taliban’s multi-billion pound drugs trade are to be a key target of military strikes in Afghanistan” read the headline of a September 30, 2000 story in the British paper, The Sunday Mirror. The story said:
“A senior Downing street aide said: ‘We have reliable information that the Taliban are planning to use money from drugs to finance military action, and that bin Laden has ordered farmers to step up production…” How can they step up production? It takes six months to grow a crop and they have to plant one first. The planting doesn’t start until November. Meantime we’re bombing the region to smithereens. Is this a new form of plowing the soil?
“There is an estimated 3,000 tonnes of opium stockpiled inside Afghanistan …” OK, what have they been selling for the last year, wheat? Mushrooms?
- “Flood of Cheap Afghan Heroin,” blazed the headline of a story in the Times of London dated September 25, 2001. The lead sentences of that story read:
“AFGHAN farmers are ready to swamp world markets with heroin amid signs that the Taleban has dropped its ban on opium growing.
“The ban was imposed by Mullah Muhammad Omar last year, leaving many farmers ruined. But the sudden halving of the price of raw opium to $250 a kg suggests the decree has been reversed.” So whose heroin is flooding the markets?
- The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and the Washington Post, along with every network, have all reported that the Taliban’s response to U.S. attacks will be to increase heroin production. Strange for a country that is now militarily sealed off and has no remaining operable airfields and whose land borders are now sealed by the U.S. military. That gives a whole new meaning to the term “Thunder Road.”
- On September 30 The Chicago Tribune published a story entitled “Panicked Opium Traders Unload Huge Stocks. Implying that it was the Taliban doing so, the story opened with the lead:
“ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Just as the Dow Jones industrial average fell precipitously in the wake of the terrorist attacks in the U.S., so did the main economic marker in the ramshackle street bazaars of Pakistan’s North West Frontier province.
“Traders from Peshawar reported that the price of opium had plunged from $700 a kilo to $90 since September 11…”
There is no mention in the story of the fact that Pakistan itself grows the opium poppy or that the Pakistani government of Musharraf Pervez – our erstwhile ally – has been dependent upon drug money to sustain itself for at least ten years. How come the story doesn’t look to the Pakistani issue?
- The Ananova press agency reported on September 29th, “…A Downing Street spokesman says there is evidence of a sudden movement of opium out of neighboring Pakistan where it was being stockpiled.” Now let me get this straight. The stockpiles are in Pakistan so we’re going to bomb Afghanistan for it. That makes real good sense!
- In this most outrageous propaganda of all, the Indian news service PTI in New Delhi, published a story on October 4, headlined, “Laden Planned to Wreak Havoc in U.S. Through Super Heroin.” It’s lead paragraph reads:
“The most wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden had planned to develop a ‘super heroin’ drug and export the same to United States and West Europe to wreak havoc there much before the deadly September 11 attacks. ‘The terror network headed by Osama bin Laden has tried to develop a high-strength form of heroin that it planned to export to United States and Western Europe,” a major American daily said today quoting intelligence reports.”
This is the most patent b.s. I have ever read. I specialized in heroin at LAPD. I was also trained by the DEA in 1976. There is no such thing as super heroin. Heroin is a chemical, diacetyl morphine. Its purest form is 100%. It is usually “cut” at least four times – each time by 50% - to 6.25% purity or less before it is sold on the streets. There is no way to make it stronger unless you just cut it less, which automatically cuts the profits to street vendors. And it is the middlemen and retailers who do the cutting, not the manufacturer. It is easier to smuggle one kilo of pure heroin from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan or Pakistan or Turkey than it is to smuggle eight kilos at 6.25%. It would take eight times as many airplanes and trucks.
Each time a middleman cuts the heroin he has twice as much to sell.
This lie of a story implies that Osama bin Laden controls street-level drug dealing in the United States from the black ghettos of New York and L.A to the white suburbs of San Francisco and Chicago. That’s the only way it is possible to get a higher-strength heroin on the streets of America.
And what about the fact that the U.S. receives – according to the DEA and the Department of Justice – more than 60 per cent of its heroin from Colombia. Does bin Laden control Colombia too?
“Oh Yeah, We Forgot To Tell You”
Only belatedly have major outlets like the Wall Street Journal (Oct. 2), The Associated Press (Oct. 5), and the Washington Post (Oct. 5) begun to acknowledge, in stories placed well back in the paper, and with much less emphasis, that the Northern Alliance – our allies against the Taliban – are now in real control of the heroin trade. Smuggling routes have shifted from south through Pakistan northward through Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. They acknowledge the obvious – that the Taliban is no longer the primary supplier of heroin. How could they be?
The Real Story
In March 2001 FTW reported from Moscow that Uzbekistan was “awash” in a sea of poppies. Since September 11 we have seen Uzbekistan not surprisingly become the hub for all U.S. military operations going into Afghanistan. It was, in fact, the very first place that U.S. military and “special operations” forces deployed – within days of the attacks. Unmentioned in press stories is the fact that firms like Southern Air, Evergreen and other CIA proprietary or contract operations have been establishing a presence in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent for more than a year. And Tashkent is a surprisingly modern city. It even has an Intercontinental Hotel. This is undoubtedly due in part to increased oil exploration, but it hauntingly parallels our experience from another era - Vietnam.
Now, as we are hearing the first reports that the Uzbeki government, fighting its own battle against a Muslim insurgency, will permit offensive operations from its military bases, FTW has had two reports that CIA operative Richard Secord has recently traveled to Tashkent. Secord’s documented history of involvement in heroin smuggling, from Vietnam, Laos and Thailand in the 1960’s and his criminal involvement in illegal operations, including drug smuggling during the Iran-Contra years, tells us exactly what is happening. These same intelligence sources have also reported that many other CIA veterans of Iran-Contra and Vietnam – despite their age – are converging on Tashkent like bees to a field of flowers – poppy flowers.
In the 1960’s and 70’s, as the Vietnam War raged, the CIA fostered and maintained a series of covert wars in Laos and Cambodia. They did this by funding their operations with heroin, refined from opium grown by indigenous tribesmen including the Hmong in Laos. The Hmong, in turn became surrogate U.S. armies and the money from the trade supported the CIA and its allies as the region became totally unstable. In the years since, the only difference is that drug money has become a $500-600 billion a year cash flow that is now an essential part of the world banking and financial system because it provides the liquid cash necessary to make the “minimum monthly payments” on huge stock and derivative and investment bubbles in the U.S. and Britain. These bubbles were already bursting in the weeks prior to the September 11 attacks.
Now, as the CIA moves to control the drug trade in the region you can be sure of several things. First, when the world sees an explosion of heroin from the region it won’t be the Taliban’s doing. Second, the cash flows from the smuggling will now be directed through U.S. banks and stocks. That is what the CIA does. Third, those cash flows – as direct air operations from Tashkent to the U.S. become commonplace - will be taken away from Russia, the Balkans, Turkey and Eastern Europe. Fourth, the result of that will be de-stabilization of the entire region. Fifth, destabilization in the region will Balkanize Russia. Sixth, the increasing U.S. military and economic presence will consolidate U.S. control over the vast oil and gas reserves in the region. A revived Unocal-Saudi pipeline project, which will begin construction soon after the U.S. establishes control, will take the oil and gas from Central Asia, through Afghanistan, and down to the Pakistani coast where it will then be sold to China and Japan. The profits from those sales will come back into Wall Street. This will be a further drain on Russian influence in the region and greatly increase global instability.
Throughout the 1990s the United States - under an exclusive arrangement coordinated by the Harvard Endowment, Goldman Sachs and the U.S Treasury - looted some $300 billion from Russia. During the period from 1989-2001 the population of that country shrank from 165 to 145 million people. As infrastructure collapsed, as services disappeared, as unemployment skyrocketed, as the Ruble collapsed, the life expectancy for a Russian male dropped from 68 to 48 years.
Make no mistake. Russia is the target here just as much as is the propping up of a feeble U.S. economy with drug money. And remember that Russia still has most of its nuclear arsenal intact.
