| An Exercise in Spin and Graphic Psychological Conditioning Would You Expect Anything Less from the BBC? |
| This was always going to be another programme full of spin with very little actual informative material. The BBC have once again proven that they should only attempt news coverage when they have an American network on air in the background. The programme began with the familiar scenes of what actually happened in NYC on Tuesday. It's a good job they broadcast those pictures again because I'd forgotten about the planes. The level of saturation that these pictures have now reached is now the highest in human history. This has to be the most intense propaganda presentation we have ever witnessed, it even eclipses the work of Goebels during the previous world war...sorry that one just slipped out, I forgot that we don't actually have a real enemy in this "war" yet. Almost every picture or reel of Bin Laden shown in this programme was accompanied by a background of rubble, presumably that of the Trade centre. This is the most heavily used mode of manipulation, a psychological technique used to make us immediately and subconsciously associate The patsy Bin Laden with these events. Bizarrely, I actually remember seeing these images before. When I sat down and had a good think about where, I remembered that they were on the BBC news only one day after the events. This means that the Panorama special was being put together less than 24 hours after the attacks, before Bin Laden had even officially been named as the prime suspect. This programme was nothing more than a rush job, designed to back up the hysterical call for heads to roll in the mainstream media and in the general public realm. It only served the same purpose as the printing in national papers of perhaps the most idiotic image ever, a pickup truck with an American flag proudly flying on the back with the words 'Nuke 'em' (referring to, we must assume, Afghanistan) scrawled under it. The whole broadcast of Panorama was intermingled with familiar heart rendering images and testimonies (more of which can be seen in a BBC special next Tuesday at 9pm) of eyes witnesses. Forgive if I'm wrong but I thought this programme was supposed to shed some light on bin Laden, not repeat everything we have witnessed for the past week AGAIN. The repetition of these scenes served to cleverly rally our emotions, eliminate the last remaining shreds of horror we have at seeing the images, turning it into anger and a wish to support decisive revenge. Cut to an image of Bin Laden and the job is complete. Footage of Palestinian civilians celebrating in the streets was again used. It has emerged over the last few days that this footage actually originates from 1991 when Iraq invaded Kuwait. It is just another ploy to manipulate our emotions against an innocent population. The only new information reported was that the suspected hijackers were in a bar drinking and bragging that they were pilots the night before the terrorist attacks. We also learned that for a fortnight they were seen "roaming" the coast of Florida. If these men were part of Bin Laden's team they must surely have been investigated by the US intelligence services at some point. If this was the case why was this 'roaming' not thought to be slightly suspicious? A final insult of our intelligence was reported by Panorama when it informed us that the FBI had intercepted e-mail from suspected followers of Bin Laden that reported that "both jobs were successful." I'm sure their bosses were very relieved to hear this news, because it was hard to tell from the TV pictures if any damage had been done wasn't it viewers? The spin continues. Stop trying to manipulate our emotions, stop persuading us, and cease the tasteless repetition of the plane crashes. This programme had all the hallmarks of a prosecutor's final speech to the jury. If this were a real case against Bin Laden, on the evidence that Panorama provided, it would be thrown out of court. The last words of the programme stated "it was senseless." To the New World Order elite attempting to suppress our freedom it makes perfect sense. |
