White House Fat Cats Get Fatter Off Katrina

Like me, I'm sure you are completely SHOCKED that some with close ties to the Bush White House are profiting off Katrina:

Companies with ties to the Bush White House and the former head of FEMA are clinching some of the administration's first disaster relief and reconstruction contracts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Former Bush campaign manager and ex-FEMA head turned lobbyist, Joe Allbaugh, has two clients with fat Katrina clean-up and relief contracts. Here are the gory details: Fat Cats Get Fatter

One is the Shaw Group and the other is Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown and Root. As we all know,

Dick Cheney used to run Halliburton.

FEMA has also tapped Betchel to provide housing for some of the evacuees. Bush has close ties with Betchel. Bush appointed Bechtel's CEO to his Export Council and former Betchel Energy CEO heads the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.

Many of these companies have already made billions in Iraq. Thus, President Bush's full employment act for cronies continues.
