Send Them, Not Me, To War
Jon Rappoport | September 8 2004
The Boston Globe seems to have nailed Bush.
If this story holds up, I'll be very interested to see what "conservative" pundits do with it.
Whatever Kerry was guilty of...Bush sent American kids to die in Iraq. That's a stark contrast to his own dodging and conning.
"You go die. I'll be here. I didn't go. You nuts? I had an out."
Daddy.
It'll also be interesting to see how all those vets who are backing Bush react. Will they just deny everything? Will say they it's enough that he "defended America against terrorism?" Is it enough that he acts like a tough guy?
"He may be a cartoon but he's our cartoon."
Then there's the old standby: "He received an honorable discharge. That means he served honorably."
In which case, the same applies to Kerry.
Bush: "Some people say I swagger. In Texas, we call that walking."
I could be wrong, but I thought Bush grew up on the east coast.
People get very defensive when their cherished cartoons blow up in their faces. God, Satan, presidents, cult leaders.
If the Globe is right, then Bush's daddy also comes off a little weird when he talks up Junior. Because he would know his son conned the US military way back there.
Bush seems to have a few things in common with Bill Clinton. Coke, dodging the military.
If we go back to a central axiom about presidents, the whole thing becomes clear: BEST FOR A PRESIDENT TO BE A FRONT.
A front always cheats, always lies.
As ee cummings wrote: "how do you like your blue-eyed boy, Mr. Death?"
