Israeli surveillance plane over Lebanon
BEIRUT, Lebanon, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Lebanon said Sunday an Israeli surveillance aircraft violated its airspace and flew over the country for 80 minutes before returning to Israel.
The Lebanese army said in a statement the plane infiltrated above the regional waters of Lebanon on Sunday between the port cities of Sidon and Tyre.
Israeli war planes regularly violate Lebanese airspace, while the Lebanese Hezbollah guerrilla group and the army occasionally fire at them.
Lebanon has often demanded that the U.N. press the Jewish state to stop its military flights over the country.
