should offer support -- rather than set conditions -- for Middle East
peace

SOUNDBITES:
Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni saying (English):
"This support comes in many forms. It comes through economic and
political assistance to the new Palestinian Government committed to co-existence
and seeking to build a foundation of a peaceful and prosperous state.
It comes from re-endorsement of any political understanding reached between
the parties."
Syria's foreign minister Walid Al-Moualem saying (English):
"The recently reported figures on the increased United States arming
of Israel speak for themselves. The latest act of aggression against Syria
on September 6, 2007 is a proof of Israel's desire to escalate tension."
