The family of a Kaneohe Marine at the center of a puppy throwing controversy has reportedly been getting death threats.

The man's sister in Monroe, Washington told a radio station, she doesn't know if the video is real but her brother is an animal lover who grew up having dogs as pets.

The uproar began Monday when this clip was posted on YouTube.

The Marine Corps is now asking the public for comments about the case.
