No One Can Take Away Irans Nuclear Know-How: President

AFP | March 21 2006

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Monday that "no one can take back" the Islamic republic's nuclear technology, in a televised address to mark Iranian New Year. "Nuclear technology is not something we obtained easily, or something someone gave us so they could take it back; no one can take it back," he said.

Iran marks Noruz on Monday, the same day as the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany are to work on reaching agreement on a long-term strategy aimed at convincing Iran to abandon sensitive uranium enrichment.

Western nations led by the United States believe Iran is pursuing the development of an atomic bomb under cover of a civilian nuclear power programme.

Iran says it only wants nuclear technology, including an uranium enrichment capacity that can be used for civil or military purposes, for peaceful means.
