Out of the mouths of babes and incestuous journalists who work for the corporate media come some incredible truths.

One such truth spilled from the lips of NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams during an interview Tuesday with New York’s billionaire Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Accompanying Bloomberg on his daily subway trip, with two police bodyguards, from Gracie Mansion to City Hall, Williams questioned the mayor about the vulnerability of the subway system to terrorist attacks. Bloomberg noted that he would ride four subway trains that day and had no qualms doing so, going on to say that one was more likely to be hit multiple times by lightning than become a victim of a terrorist subway attack.

That’s when Williams, demurring, prefaced his concerns with “we in the terrorism business.”

“We in the terrorism business?” Was that an admission that corporate media journalists are in bed with Washington’s terrorism propagandists?

Williams has certainly done his share of playing the fear card. Along with many of his corporate media colleagues, he has dutifully hammered away on every ridiculous alleged “terror plot” authorities claimed to have thwarted. Never mind that when the truth finally came out there was no there there.

Bloomberg neither seemed surprised nor blinked at eye at Williams’ “we in the terrorism business” remark. Read what you will into that. Apparently, though, Williams’ remark went over most viewers’ heads.

From the mouth of Brian Williams, we now know the media are in the “terrorism business” with the Bush administration, the neocons, Congress and the corporations raking in the profits.
