Bahrain opposed to anti-Iran strike Press

Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad bin Mohammad al-Khalifa, Foreign Minister of Bahrain, made the remarks on Sunday prior to his departure along with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Mohammad Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah to Seoul, South Korea, to participate in the 6th Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum. The visiting senior Bahraini official insisted that no one wishes to see another war erupting in the region, KUNA news agency reported. "Everyone is working to protect the region from evil and dangers," he said, adding that Bahrain would encourage US-Iranian dialogue and support it in the interest of regional stability.
The comment by Mohammad al-Khalifa came days after Bahraini lawmakers overwhelmingly approved a bill, banning the US military from using bases in Bahrain to launch attacks against Iran, Also on Sunday, Kuwait reiterated that it opposed any military action against its Persian Gulf neighboring country, Iran, calling for a negotiated solution to the nuclear issue. "We are against any military strike against Iran," National Security Agency Chief Sheikh Ahmad Fahd al-Sabah told reporters. The 6th Asia Cooperation Dialogue is due to kick off in Seoul Monday. Both the Kuwaiti and Bahraini delegations will then continue their tour to Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, and finally in Bahrain where the Higher Kuwaiti-Bahraini Committee is to convene.
