Al-Qaeda Planned Cyanide Attack on NY Subway Sofia News Agency | June 18 2006 Al-Qaeda had been planning a Cyanide gas attack on the New York subway in 2003, Time magazine reported. The weekly published excerpts from the book "The One Per cent Doctrine" by reporter Ron Suskind that will hit the stores on Monday. According to the report, the US' Secret Service found out about the poisonous gas attack from the laptop of a Bahraini, who was captured in Saudi Arabia in the beginning of 2003. Terrorist were plotting spreading the lethal gas around key subway stations and nearby vehicles, Suskind claims. However, forty-five days before the assigned date Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the now deceased Al-Qaeda functionary, called off the whole plan. ---------------------------------------------------
