Random Drug Testing For Burnet CISD? Kxan An aggressive new drug program is the talk of the town out in the Hill Country Wednesday morning. The Burnet Independent School District is hoping to enact random drug tests at their local high school. The athletic director approached the school board for the first time recently with a few ideas to randomly test students. He used a few examples to consider, one which would include students who drive their cars to school. Burnet Consolidated Independent School District is a 4A school, which considers itself typical of Hill Country schools. Administrators there are looking closely at random drug-testing policies
at schools like Marble Falls and Llano. "If you include the group that drives on campus, that being a privilege, it just gives you more reach into more kids that would be involved. And obviously with the operation of motor vehicles, that safety could be an issue," said Principal Craig Spinn at Burnet High School. Officials there are using Lindale ISD as the model for a proposed random testing program involving kids who take their own cars to school. A so-called exploratory committee is expected to come back to the Burnet school board to eventually request permission to draft a proposed program. --------------------------------------------------- Prison Planet.tv: The Premier Multimedia Subscription Package: Download and Share the Truth!
