Iran Successfully Test-Fires Russian Surface-to-Air Missiles Mos
News According to an air force commander Iran successfully test-fired its new Russian-made surface-to-air missile defense system on Wednesday, the AFP reported February 7. “We have successfully test-fired the new modern TOR-M1 defense system, within the framework of the Revolutionary Guards defense doctrine based on a military strategy of deterrence,” Revolutionary Guards commander Hossein Salami was quoted as saying. ’The Iranian armed forces have added the new missile system to its defences to consolidate its defense capabilities,’ he said. The test took place during the first of two days of war games by the Revolutionary Guards navy and air force. The anti-missile system delivery from Russia to Iran last month sparked fierce US criticism. ---------------------------------------------------
