Bush: Cheney 'Profoundly Affected' by Accident President George W. Bush responded publicly for the first time to the controversy involving Vice President Dick Cheney and the shooting accident that injured a Texas lawyer, Harry Whittington, during a quail hunting trip last weekend. Bush, during a press conference in Washington with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, commented directly about the media frenzy surrounding Cheney and how "deeply affected” the vice president was about the health of his friend Whittington. "I think people are making the wrong conclusion about a tragic accident,” Bush said. "The vice president was involved in a terrible accident and it profoundly affected him. "Yesterday, when he was here in the Oval Office, I saw the deep concern that he had about the person who he wounded. I thought yesterday’s explanation [during an exclusive interview on Fox News Channel] was very strong and an important explanation to make to the American people. "Now our concerns are directed to the recovery of our friend,” Bush continued. "I knew Harry Whittington from when I was governor of Texas. He’s a fine man. He’s been involved in our state’s politics for a long time. My concern is for Harry and I know the vice president feels the same way.” --------------------------------------------------- Get Alex Jones and Paul Joseph Watson's books, ALL Alex's documentary films, films by other authors, audio interviews and special reports.
