TV Crime Drama In 1800

Jon Rappoport | February 4 2005

The newly minted US Constitution did two basic things. It restrained the power of a central government, and it spelled out various personal freedoms.

It was considered heroic to set up a nation that cut off federal power at the knees.

Therefore, had there been TV at the time, Law and Order would have featured citizens who defeated criminals trying to expand the power of the federal government.

These citizens would have warmed the cockles of the hearts of viewers.

The satisfaction factor would have been high among the audience. The pride some people now feel watching cops and prosecutors nail the bad guys on Law and Order would have had a completely different basis in the old days.

"Wow, look at those Massachusetts farmers in Washington. They just caught a guy planning to start a central bank. The bastard. Put him in prison."

Which only goes to show the depth and extent of the brainwashing operation that has taken complete charge since then. Now we think marvelous government and authority are all about nailing crooks. Then, many of the crooks were perceived as the people who were trying to inflate federal power.

What better way to install a love for state and federal power than to show its officers catching terrible citizens who commit heinous crimes?

It's called a reversal. A classic propaganda strategy.

And it's worked so well that, now, if you went to a major TV network and pitched a new crime series featuring private citizens who crush efforts to expand fed power, you'd be referred to a shrink for serious medication.
