NAFTA Trade Corridors Are Real

"There's no such thing as a proposed NAFTA Superhighway." That was the conclusion reached by writer Christopher Hayes in the August 27, 2007 issue of The Nation. Of course, Hayes is not alone in denying the existence of plans for a NAFTA Superhighway system. The official line, from the governments of Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. is that there are no plans to merge the three nations and, as a result, there are no plans to build a NAFTA highway system.

Apparently, the government of the province of Alberta, Canada, did not get the memo. The Province's Infrastructure and Transportation division helpfully published online the map of the NAFTA Superhighway seen below.

So much for the myth that no such highway system is in the works. To see the map in its native environment, click here.
