John Browne, the former chief excutive of BP, said on Tuesday that he expected oil prices to stay above $80-$100 a barrel.

"It is difficult to see (oil prices) much below $100, so $80-$100," Browne said at the ONS oil and gas conference in Norway. "As a flow, (predicting the) ceiling is difficult."

Browne left BP as chief excutive in 2007 and has joined Riverstone Holdings LLC.
