Miss Universe's Fun At 'Beautiful' Guantanamo

Miss Universe has caused a stir after gushing over her visit to the Guantanamo Bay detention centre, describing it as a "relaxing, calm, beautiful place".

Venezuelan Dayana Mendoza visited Guantanamo as part of a United Service Organisations (USO) tour that takes entertainers to visit US troops.

The 22-year-old wrote on her travel blog: "This week, Guantanamo!!! It was an incredible experience.

"We had a wonderful time, this truly was a memorable trip!"

Ms Mendoza and Miss USA Crystle Stewart were shown around the base by marines who then took them on "a ride around the land and it was a loooot of fun!", wrote the beauty queen.

"We visited the Detainees (sic) camps and we saw the jails, where they shower, how the (sic) recreate themselves with movies, classes of art, books. It was very interesting," she went on.
