This is ridiculous. Why go to all the trouble of building a fairly lifelike robot, and then give it teeth that still have to be drilled and filled by a dentist?

Oh, right. It's a dentist training robot.

If you don't understand Japanese, this video seems far more demented than it actually is.

The training would be more effective if the robot could 'feel' pain, and transmit that pain back to the trainee dentist.
